Introduction
Rosewood Guangzhou occupies the upper floors of the CTF Finance Centre in Zhujiang New Town, making it one of the highest hotels in the world. It features 251 elegant rooms and suites, long-stay residences, and seven upscale dining venues, including a sky bar with panoramic city views. The hotel offers extensive wellness facilities such as a two-level spa, indoor pool, and fitness centre, along with over 3,000 sqm of event space. Combining modern design with Chinese cultural elements, Rosewood Guangzhou is known for its refined service, premium location in Guangzhou's business district, and a guest experience tailored to both business and luxury travellers.

Arrival, Airport Transfer and Check-In
Arriving at Rosewood Guangzhou feels like stepping into a sanctuary high above the city. From the quiet entrance at street level, you're whisked up by a high-speed elevator to the sky lobby - it took less than 90 seconds to travel up over 100 floors - where the view alone instantly reminds you you're in the clouds. The design is elegant but warm—polished stone, soft lighting, and touches of Chinese art that make the space feel both luxurious and grounded.
Check-in was somewhat odd however, with the check-in desk situated in the corridor leading to one of the restaurants. With how wide the arrival lobby was from the lifts we arrived in were, it was a surprise how narrow the check-in area was. The staff however, made the experience as relaxed and personal as they could; you're greeted by name and everything is handled smoothly. Check-in was completed under 10 minutes and we were then escorted to our suite and given a short introduction to the suite.
Manor Suite with Manor Club access
The Manor Suite at Rosewood Guangzhou is a spacious, residence-style suite measuring a huge 118 m² (1,270 ft²) and can be located between the 96th and 106th floors with impressive tower views over the city. Our suite was on the 103rd floor.
It features a king-sized bed, separate living room, elegant marble bathroom with rain and handheld showers, and a guest powder room. The suite blends modern luxury with comfort, offering premium amenities such as Frette linens, a Bose sound system, Nespresso machine, luxury bathrobes, and twice-daily housekeeping. Usually, guests also enjoy exclusive access to the Manor Club on the 108th floor, but it was closed during our stay, so we used the lounge that was shared with the residences. More on that later.
Amenities consisted of the usual but I have to say the exquisite packaging of the toiletries was the nicest I had ever seen even in the 5-star hotel range, just look at the video below and you will see a magnetic solid box that houses a razor and bar shaving soap. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotions were full-sized Lorenzo Villoresi and pleasantly perfumed.
We also visited some other suites, ranging from the corner suite to the hotel's equivalent presidential suite the Canton House and Xi Guan House, which was truly a mansion in the sky. Scroll through the photos below and give your eyes a feast!
Welcome amenities
As part of the Rosewood ELITE perks (also applied to you when you book with us), we were greeted with multiple amenities, along with not one, but two handwritten welcome notes. The team thoughtfully prepared some sweets, chocolate cake and lychee.
During turn-down service, we were treated to a bottle of wine, olives, cheese and cherries on the first night. On the second night, we were provided some lychee, lychee soda and caneles - after they noticed how much we loved lychees during breakfast - talk about personalised service!
Breakfast
Breakfast at Rosewood Guangzhou is a standout experience, offering two distinct yet equally satisfying options. In the main breakfast venue—typically at Patina Brasserie—you'll find an expansive buffet with a wide selection of Western and Asian dishes, including made-to-order eggs, fresh pastries, dim sum, Cantonese congee, noodle stations, cold cuts, and fresh fruit. The quality is consistently high, and the views from the 95th floor dining area add an impressive backdrop to the meal.
They also had savoury carrot cake - a street food staple, which I was very surprised with and also very pleased with!
In contrast, breakfast at Club 68 offers a more intimate, quiet setting with a curated selection of lighter items such as pastries, fruit, toast, and a few hot dishes. While the variety is more limited, the atmosphere is peaceful and service more personalized, making it ideal for a slower, more relaxed start to the day. Together, these two options provide guests that have club access with the flexibility to enjoy both a grand, buffet-style breakfast and a refined, lounge-style alternative.
Club Lounge
The Manor Club was unavailable during our stay and we were directed to use Club68 instead, which was perched on the 68th floor as it's name suggests, though it was shared with the guests from Rosewood Residences. This lounge operates for guests who are eligible for Manor Club/Club level benefits or residence guests, providing food and beverage presentations (such as afternoon tea and cocktails) throughout parts of the day.
It was nevertheless refined, private lounge space designed with a warm, residential‑ambience in mind—comfortable seating, elegant finishes, and soft lighting make it inviting whether you're there to work, relax, or socialize.
Service is attentive and polished, with staff ensuring that guests’ needs (drinks, small bites, ambiance) are well met. While it is less grand than the higher‑level Manor Club (which sits at 108), Club 68 offers a more grounded version —striking a balance between exclusivity and a cosy, restful space with great views.
The food offering each night was impeccable - with a different double boiled soup each night and sumptuous Chinese dishes like claypot rice as well was Western favourites like a classic Wagyu burger and chips. The dessert and snack station was buffet-styled. Food in the lounge was better than most restaurants you would find in Guangzhou and given the standard of dining in the city, it is very high praise.
Hotel Facilities
The hotel takes full advantage of its position atop one of the tallest buildings, with many of its facilities offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city. The wellness center, spread across the 93rd and 94th floors, includes a 25-meter indoor swimming pool and a fully equipped fitness center, both bathed in natural light and framed by floor-to-ceiling windows. Swimming or working out while gazing over the skyline of Tianhe District and the Pearl River transforms routine wellness activities into elevated experiences.
Dining and event spaces are similarly positioned to make the most of the hotel’s altitude. Venues like the sky bar on the uppermost floors provide dramatic cityscapes, especially stunning at sunset or under the glow of city lights at night. The design throughout the hotel makes smart use of open sightlines and expansive windows to ensure the city is always in view, creating a feeling of both luxury and lightness.
While some wellness and leisure spaces are enclosed—limiting open-air access—the elevation and design still ensure an expansive, uplifting environment. On days with fog or heavy pollution, visibility can be reduced, but on clear days, the views are unmatched in the city. Overall, the vistas are not just a backdrop but a defining feature of the Rosewood Guangzhou experience, enhancing everything from relaxation to dining to simple moments of reflection.
Departure
Check-out at Rosewood Guangzhou was smooth and efficient, handled with the same professionalism and warmth experienced throughout the stay. The process was quick, with no delays or last-minute issues. Staff were attentive and proactive, even coordinating the departure by ensuring our car was ready and waiting at the entrance. Their attention to detail made the final moments of the stay feel just as polished and seamless as the arrival.
Though we didn't opt for it this time, the hotel provides airport transfers to and from the airport, with 2 and 4 seaters available.
Conclusion
Room: 10/10:
The rooms at Rosewood Guangzhou are impeccably designed, spacious, and luxuriously appointed, blending modern sophistication with Chinese artistry. High-quality materials, panoramic views, and thoughtful touches make the in-room experience exceptional.
Breakfast: 9/10
Breakfast was a standout experience, offering an extensive and beautifully presented selection of both Western and Asian dishes. The quality of ingredients, variety, and attentive service ensure that the morning meal feels more like a curated dining experience than a typical hotel buffet. More personable and less business-like service would have gotten the 10/10 rating.
Lounge: 8.5/10
The lounge had an elevated atmosphere with all day dining, snacks, drinks, and personalized service. While nearly flawless, slight room for improvement might exist in refreshment variety or seating availability during peak times - perhaps a function of the Manor club being unavailable and the lounge being shared with guests from the Rosewood residences.
General Areas: 8/10
Public spaces are stylish and well-maintained, with impressive design and art installations. However, the hotel's vertical layout—spread across the upper floors of a skyscraper—can occasionally make navigation less intuitive, and elevator logistics can cause minor delays given we had to change between three separate lifts to get to the lounge and general areas, to get out of the building and to get to our rooms.
Facilities: 9/10
The wellness and leisure facilities, including the two-floor spa, indoor pool, and fitness center, are excellent and reflect the brand’s luxury standards. Some guests may feel that the pool or spa could offer more expansive views or additional seating, but overall the facilities are superb.
Service: 9/10
Staff are polished, professional, and generally very attentive, providing warm, personalized service across departments. Minor inconsistencies may occur during peak occupancy, but overall service levels align with top-tier luxury expectations. Some staff do not speak English, but promptly redirect you to one that can.
Value: 10/10
Given the exceptional room quality, exclusive amenities, prime location, and high level of service, Rosewood Guangzhou offers outstanding value—particularly when compared to other ultra-luxury hotels in major global cities - you can expect rates to be easily 3-4 times less than an equivalent hotel in another major city.
